Overview

We have an opportunity within our Risk team for an Analyst position. This role will assess risk on merchant credit card processing and correspond with merchants to validate transaction activity.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing daily transaction exception reporting to monitor for unusual or suspicious activity,
  • Capturing and holding funds according to guidelines as warranted,
  • Educating merchants and Relationship Managers regarding the fundamentals of proper card acceptance procedures and best practices,
  • Reviewing/requesting information to determine if merchant processing activity is an acceptable risk to First American Payment Systems,
  • Contacting merchants, Sales Partners, and/or issuing banks to determine appropriate investigative action,
  • Ensuring merchant is in compliance with regulatory standards and contractual parameters,
  • Answering questions from internal and external sources regarding policy and procedures,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or college degree preferred.
  • Fraud analysis, risk management, or credit underwriting experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and listening skills.
  • Commitment to meeting customer service standards
  • Possess professionalism towards keeping sensitive information secure.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret data based on established criteria.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy.
  • PC literate with proficiency in general Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent professional attitude and dependable attendance
