Strategic Accounts Manager

We have an exciting opportunity within our growing strategic partnership channel department for a Strategic Account Manager. The primary objectives of the Strategic Account Manager are proactive account management of strategic accounts/sales partners with the primary goal of achieving P&L objectives, increasing application production, and overall portfolio growth to meet partner and organizational objectives. This position will interact daily with corporate/key/executive level decision makers of established and new strategically high profile accounts.


  • Develop and maintain a unified account management strategy with client base,
  • Pursue and generate market opportunities in tandem with creating and executing tactical plans/programs to achieve P&L objectives,
  • Ability to enhance production, revenue, and market share through effective use of relationship management and business skills,
  • Act as knowledge-centered resource on products, services, legislation, processes and policies, all designed to increase partner education,
  • Influence and creatively motivate/inspire sales offices for increased production and commitment to First American,
  • Present new, value-added products and services designed to increase merchant application count and account P&L performance,
  • Maintain strong relationships with key decision makers within assigned accounts,
  • Cross functional collaboration to build consensus and prioritization for business needs,
  • Organize, coordinate, and present critical data and information to key management within the sales organization,
  • Identify and implement processes to reduce operation expense,
  • Identify improvement to existing systems/products, and opportunities for new products and services,
  • Influence internal and external contacts for prioritization and executive of deliverables necessary to achieve strategic and tactical objectives.
  • 50% travel


  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Must have 10+ years of relevant professional experience (preference made to experience with bankcard sales/support)
  • Proven track record of managing and growing high value, high visibility accounts to achieve company, partner and P&L objectives,
  • Ability to provide professional and interpersonal communication (verbal and written) when interacting with internal and customer contacts
  • Assertive and self-motivated with the ability to motivate sales partners
  • Advanced critical thinking capability/problem solving/data research and analysis skills
  • Proven success developing productive sales relationships
  • Knowledge of computer software systems (i.e. Microsoft Office/Outlook)
  • Knowledge of backcard sales or support experience preferred
