Security Analyst I

The Security Analyst I will perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies. The Security Analyst will be heavily involved in analysis of data extracted from various systems within the Information Security environment. Responsibilities will also include assisting on IT Compliance Program, assisting various projects, presenting on Information Security concepts and assisting in policy/procedure development.


  • Monitor logs for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution.       Logs include servers, workstations, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, 2 factor authentication systems, web application firewalls, data loss prevention systems, file integrity monitoring systems, anti-virus/malware systems, security incident and event management systems (SIEM).
  • Analyze points from health reports and key security metrics on deployed security applications/tools
  • Assist in providing support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security.
  • Provide support for various business units to identify their current security gaps.
  • Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security designs.
  • Assist in the execution of IT Compliance functions including, policy/procedure development, monthly reporting, artifact extraction, control analysis, meetings with auditors and review of emerging compliance requirements.
  • Assist on various tasks during the design, develop and implement security systems and system components.
  • Assist senior resources in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of security policy.
  • Conducts focused analysis and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the environment.
  • Engage with security vendors on new releases and/or enhancement to currently deployed devices/applications
  • Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations.
  • Participate in vendor/industry security focused events in DFW area.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard policies, procedures and training programs for associates.

  • Strong presentation & communication skills are preferred.


  • Experience writing policies and procedures.
  • College graduate with major in IT related field or work experience of at least 1 year of experience working in the IT Security.
  • Awareness of IT Security concepts.
  • Awareness of IT Compliance.
  • Awareness of Endpoint protection controls (Anti-Virus and Malware protection)
  • Awareness of security scanning and attack tools.
