  • Overview

    The Systems Administrator’s role involves the deployment of new servers, diagnosing hardware issues, replacing defective components, and managing and upgrading hardware firmware on devices.  Other duties include strong experience with Active Directory, scripting, performing routine maintenance procedures, upgrading existing software applications, and deploying new software applications.     


    • Manage daily support requests.
    • Performing routine maintenance and patching on networks, servers, and various middleware platforms during scheduled maintenance windows.
    • Create tickets for tracking of production incidents, upgrades, installs, scheduled maintenance, and routine events.
    • Troubleshoot issues with applications and services running on multiple Windows based systems.
    • Proactively monitor production networks and systems to identify potential issues.
    • Perform routine heath checks and implement strategies to be proactive.
    • Participate in the building of documentation to support the infrastructure
    • Act as escalation point for complex issues reported to Service Desk
    • Weekday/Weekend on-call rotation and must be able to perform maintenance afterhours.
    • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
    • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
    • Establish service level agreements with end users and vendors.
    • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
    • Perform network and security audits.
    • Perform system backups.
    • Ability to work independently on projects and function as a technical team member.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with fellow IS members, levels of management and executives.
    • Afterhours on-call rotation, ability to work weekends and holidays if needed.
    • Must be able to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.


    • Expert knowledge of Windows Server Environments (Group Policy, Active Directory, Powershell, etc.)
    • Good knowledge of VMware ESXi Administration
    • Good knowledge of Office 365 administration
    • Good knowledge of Avaya PBX or similar IP phone system
    • Experience with ServiceNow administration
    • Experience with Tidal Enterprise Scheduling software
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
    • Experience with Rightfax or other enterprise fax solutions
    • Experience with Fortis or other Enterprise document management systems
    • Experience with Kace Endpoint System Management
    • Experience with JAMF management platform
    • Familiar with ITIL methodology
    • Familiar with SSL/TLS certificates and encryption technologies including PGP and gzip
    • Familiar with file transfer technologies including FTP, sFTP, SCP and Connect:Direct (NDM)
    • IIS and website maintenance and troubleshooting
    • Working knowledge of PCI Audits
    • Working knowledge of Networking
    • Technical knowledge of the payment and/or financial industry a plus
    • The right candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently or as a team member. Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
