  • Overview

    The Director of Gateway Development will direct application development, integration, support and standardization efforts for the First American Payment Gateway platform in Camden, New Jersey (NJ). This position will work closely with technology and other department staff to define, develop, test, deploy, and document software tools and applications that support the ongoing systems integration and life-cycle needs of the Organization. This includes the support of current systems as well as the development of new applications that optimize and enhance supporting the business process requirements of First American.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop project plans, lead resource planning, scheduling and managing development timelines.
    • Devise strategies to gather regular feedback and information from numerous sources to effectively validate and manage the performance of any product on an ongoing basis
    • Actively drive the development life-cycle from requirements analysis, feasibility estimates, design, code, documentation, testing, implementation, and support.
    • Closely monitor the progress of each project, tracking deliverables and milestones
    • Ability to drive a culture of quality and personal accountability through development and delivery teams.
    • Liaise with the Business Services team and other stakeholders to integrate current/pending system functionality components into multiple-vendor production environment through the translation of business requirements into validated and tested application tools
    •  Manage and optimize structured, Agile-themed software development, quality assurance, customer acceptance, system documentation/change management processes
    • Manage development resources, staff, and consultants to ensure consistent development and delivery of application, reporting, system training, and other tools
    • Develop, enhance, and champion software application tools, modules, multi-systems integrations, etc., in accordance with standardized architectural, testing, and documentation specifications.
    • Oversee maintenance of development environment used for feasibility/proof-of-concept studies and beta testing / debugging initiatives
    • Identify/troubleshoot application reporting and code related issues and debugging operations as part of a standardized quality control process
    • Leverage inherent opportunities in automation, cloud-based, workflow, and other technology assets to increase systems availability, efficiency, and impact

    Provide feedback into end-user training/documentation efforts

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 10 years of application development related work experience in a variety of coding environments
    • Strong design, coding, testing, documentation, and debugging skills
    • Knowledge of standard SDLC and Agile/Kanban software development methodologies
    • Knowledge of version and revision control / structured change management practices and procedures
    • Strong customer service focus
    • Experience managing the delivery of projects from the first wireframe up to deployment.
    • Clear communicator who can write detailed reports and present succinctly to an audience.
