    Help First American Payment Systems continue to be a leader in the credit card processing industry by acting as a Computer Operator I in Downtown Fort Worth, TX. The Computer Operator I will be responsible for the computer operations within the Information Technology group. This is a mid-shift position from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and will work rotating 4 days a week.


    This position is a core member of the Information Technology support team in the Operations Center. Ideal candidates should have Unix or Linux operating system experience and should also be able to apply basic Unix shell scripting skills. This position will also monitor service and incident requests, as well as assign or resolve tickets when needed. Candidates should be comfortable working with a job scheduler (Tidal), customers, peers, and management within the functional areas of IT.


    • Maintains up to date knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards.
    • Monitors system to identify any system malfunctions and initiates corrective action to maintain schedules and to ensure integrity of production and outputs.
    • Maintains schedules for recurring production, assists users in planning scheduled and unscheduled production runs.
    • Assists in production control, job setup and operation of equipment.
    • Provides assistance in implementing practices that will more effectively utilize the resources.
    • Participates in formal on the job training concerning topics in the relevant technology field.
    • Follows IT standards and policies for workflow.
    • Develops strong cooperative relationships within the IT Tech Group and with other support and IT Teams
    • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures, using a systematic approach, to complete assigned tasks.



    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Associates degree in computer related field a plus or equivalent work experience.



    1. Prior exposure to computer systems or operations desirable.
    2. Unix and mainframe background also very desirable. 


    Knowledge / Skills:

    1. Knowledgeable of related computer operations.
    2. Experience with scheduling in a Unix/Linux environment, Windows Server and Cisco Tidal
    3. Ability to plan, organize and schedule activities associated with production runs to maximize efficiency in operations.
    4. Ability to work with limited supervision.
    5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
    6. Strong problem solving skills.
